Gamochaeta filaginea (DC.) Cabrera is a species in the Asteraceae family, native to regions across South America, the Azores, and parts of Europe and the Caribbean. It was first described in 1961.

Description

Gamochaeta filaginea is a member of the Asteraceae family, commonly known as the daisy or sunflower family. This species is distributed across several regions including Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Uruguay, Spain, and the Azores. It is also found on Pico Island and Terceira Island in the Azores archipelago. The species has a wide range in South America, encompassing the Northeast, Northwest, and South of Argentina, as well as the Southeast and South of Brazil. It was formally published in 1961 under the authorship of Cabrera, based on the original description by DC. (Desfontaines).
