Gamocarpha scapigera is a species in the genus Gamocarpha, family Calyceraceae. It is native to Argentina Northwest, Argentina South, and Chile Central. The species was formally described in 2018 by S. Denham and Pozner, based on earlier work by J. Rémy.

Gamocarpha scapigera belongs to the Calyceraceae family, a group of flowering plants primarily found in South America. This species is distributed across the regions of Argentina Northwest, Argentina South, and Chile Central. The scientific name was updated in 2018 by S. Denham and Pozner, incorporating earlier taxonomic work by J. Rémy. The genus Gamocarpha includes several species characterized by their unique morphological traits, and G. scapigera is one of the more recently recognized members of this group.
