Description

Medicago rugosa is native to regions including Portugal, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Corsica, Algeria, the Balearic Islands, Cyprus, the East Aegean Islands, Greece, India, and Ireland. It was first described in 1792 by Desr. This species is also found in Hawaii and other global locations. It is characterized by its annual growth cycle and belongs to the genus Medicago.
