Galphimia glauca, known as rain of gold or golden showers, is a flowering shrub in the Malpighiaceae family. It is native to Central America and parts of Mexico and Nicaragua.

Description

Galphimia glauca is a flowering shrub belonging to the Malpighiaceae family. It is native to regions including Costa Rica, Colombia, the Philippines, Guatemala, central and Gulf regions of Mexico, as well as parts of Nicaragua. The plant was first described in 1799 by the author Cav. It is commonly known by names such as rain of gold, golden showers, thryallis, and shower of gold.
