Fridericia truncata is a species in the Bignoniaceae family, native to Brazil, northeastern and northwestern Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay. It was formally described in 2014 by L.G. Lohmann, based on earlier work by Sprague.

Fridericia truncata belongs to the genus Fridericia within the Bignoniaceae family, commonly known as the bignonia or trumpet vine family. This species is distributed across several South American countries, including Brazil, northeastern and northwestern Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay. The scientific name was published in 2014 by L.G. Lohmann, who reclassified the species originally documented by Sprague. The plant is part of a regionally diverse family known for its flowering vines and trees.
