Tamarix gallica, known as French tamarisk, is a deciduous shrub or small tree in the Tamaricaceae family. It can grow up to 5 meters tall and is characterized by its twiggy, herbaceous structure. Native to regions across Europe and parts of North Africa and South America, it has been documented in locations such as Madeira, Portugal, Belgium, Ireland, Italy, and Malta, among others. The species was first described in 1753 by Carl Linnaeus.
