Description
Poa palustris is a grass species found in regions including Greenland, Labrador, Newfoundland, and parts of Canada, as well as in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and Norway. Linnaeus originally described the species based on a plant from central Europe. Earlier references to a Morison plate as a type were not accepted as formal typifications. The plant is utilized in agricultural and ecological contexts for its forage value and ability to stabilize soil.
