Alnus formosana, the Formosan alder, is a medium-sized tree native to Taiwan. It can grow up to 20 metres tall with a trunk diameter of 40 centimetres.

Description

Alnus formosana (Burkill) Makino is a species of the genus Alnus in the family Betulaceae. Endemic to Taiwan, this tree is part of the natural flora of the region. It was first described in 1912. The species is known for its moderate size, reaching a maximum height of 20 metres and a trunk diameter of up to 40 centimetres.
