Torreya taxifolia, known as Florida nutmeg, is an endangered subcanopy tree in the yew family, Taxaceae. It is native to a small area at the border of northern Florida and southwestern Georgia.

Description

Torreya taxifolia, also called Florida torreya or stinking-cedar, is a rare tree species in the Taxaceae family. It is found only in a limited region at the border of northern Florida and southwestern Georgia. The species was first described in 1838 by Arn. It is considered endangered and is part of the global distribution of the genus Torreya.
