Illicium floridanum, known as Florida anisetree, is an evergreen shrub native to the Gulf Coast region of the southern United States, ranging from Florida to Louisiana.

Description

Illicium floridanum belongs to the genus Illicium in the family Schisandraceae. It is native to the Gulf Coast area of the southern United States, including the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi, as well as parts of Mexico. This species was first described in 1770 by J. Ellis. The plant is an evergreen shrub and is commonly known as Florida anisetree in English.
