Schoenorchis sarcophylla, known as the fleshy flea orchid, is a small epiphytic orchid with many thin roots, three to seven dark green leaves, and up to thirty white, tube-shaped flowers. It is native to New Guinea and tropical North Queensland.

Description

Schoenorchis sarcophylla is a member of the Orchidaceae family and is characterized by its epiphytic growth habit. The plant has numerous thin roots and a compact rosette of three to seven dark green leaves. It produces up to thirty densely clustered, white, tube-shaped flowers. The species is distributed in New Guinea and Queensland, where it grows in tropical habitats. Described by Schltr. in 1913, it is known by the common name fleshy flea orchid.
