Persoonia linearis, known as fine-leaf geebung, is a shrub native to New South Wales and Victoria in eastern Australia. It can grow up to 5 m tall and has dark grey, papery bark. The leaves are linear, up to 9 cm long and 0.1 to 0.7 cm wide. It produces small yellow flowers in summer, autumn, and early winter, followed by green fleshy drupes. It is part of the Lanceolata group within the genus Persoonia and can interbreed with several other species in overlapping ranges.
Description
Persoonia linearis is a member of the Proteaceae family and is found in New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria. It typically reaches 3 m in height but can occasionally grow up to 5 m. The plant is characterized by its linear leaves and small yellow flowers that bloom during summer, autumn, and early winter. The fruit is a small green drupe. This species is part of the Lanceolata group, which includes 58 closely related Persoonia species. It is known to hybridize with other species where their ranges overlap.
