It is native to regions including Greenland, Labrador, Newfoundland, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Northwest Territories, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Denmark, Sweden, Chile, Flanders, Finland, the Faroe Islands, and Iceland. The species was first described in 1753 by Linnaeus.
Description
