It is also found in Madeira Island, Porto Santo, the Palaearctic, Belgium, the Flemish and Walloon Regions, France, the Netherlands, and Great Britain. First described in 1794 by Banks & Sol., this plant is characterized by its freshwater habitat preference and compact growth.
