Lythrum junceum, known as False Grass-poly, is a perennial herb in the Lythraceae family. It is native to the Mediterranean Basin, West Asia, and Macaronesia. This species has simple, broad leaves and a self-supporting growth form, typically reaching up to 0.2 m in height. It thrives in freshwater habitats.

Description

Lythrum junceum is distributed across several regions, including the Açores, Madeira, Portugal Continental, and various islands such as Faial, Flores, Pico, Santa Maria, São Jorge, São Miguel, and Terceira. It is also found in Madeira Island, Porto Santo, the Palaearctic, Belgium, the Flemish and Walloon Regions, France, the Netherlands, and Great Britain. First described in 1794 by Banks & Sol., this plant is characterized by its freshwater habitat preference and compact growth.
