Tinantia anomala is a species in the Commelinaceae family, native to Texas and one specimen from Durango, Mexico. It is commonly known as false dayflower and is related to Tinantia pringlei. It grows on rocky slopes, ravines, and woodland edges.

Tinantia anomala, known as false dayflower, is a member of the Commelinaceae family. It is primarily found in Texas, with a single recorded specimen from the Mexican state of Durango. The plant is associated with rocky slopes, ravines, and the edges of woodlands. It is closely related to the Mexican inchplant, Tinantia pringlei. First described in 1881 by C.B. Clarke, it is a species with a limited distribution in central and northeastern Mexico and Texas.
