Alnus jorullensis, known as evergreen alder, is an evergreen or semi-evergreen alder native to Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras. It was previously reported from the Andes, but later collections identified those as A. acuminata. The species was first described in 1817 by Kunth.

Description

Alnus jorullensis is a member of the Betulaceae family and is part of the Alnus genus. It is distributed across several regions in Mexico, including the Mexico Central, Mexico Gulf, and others, as well as in Guatemala and Honduras. It is not native to the Andes, where earlier reports were corrected to A. acuminata. This species is found in areas such as Parque Nacional Natural Los Nevados and the Departamento de Quindío in Colombia.
