Linanthus dichotomus, known as eveningsnow, is a flowering plant in the Polemoniaceae family. It is native to western North America, including Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, and parts of northwestern Mexico. This annual herb grows up to 20 cm tall, with thin, waxy, erect stems. The leaves are divided into linear lobes 1–2 cm long. It produces a cyme of funnel-shaped white flowers with purple undersides, typically blooming in the evening.

Description

Linanthus dichotomus is commonly found in various habitats, especially on serpentine soils in California. The species was first described in 1833 by Benth. The flowers are vespertine, with corollas that unroll to reveal white lobes slightly over a centimeter in length. This species is a common member of the flora in the southwestern United States and is adapted to a range of environmental conditions.
