Zephyranthes chlorosolen (Herb.) D.Dietr. is a geophytic perennial in the Amaryllidaceae family, native to regions from Kansas to Mexico and introduced to southern Brazil. It is commonly known as evening rain-lily and typically grows 18 to 35 cm tall. The plant produces a single flower that opens in the evening and remains open for only a few days.

Description

Zephyranthes chlorosolen is a flowering plant species in the Amaryllidaceae family. It is found in the United States, including Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas, as well as in Mexico and southern Brazil. Known by several common names such as Drummond's rain-lily and Texas rainlily, it is a perennial herb with a solitary flower that blooms in the evening. The flower has a short lifespan, lasting only a few days. The species was first described in 1840.
