Escallonia bifida is a member of the genus Escallonia in the family Escalloniaceae. It is found in several regions, including Brazil's Southeast and South, as well as Uruguay. The species was first described in 1828 by Link & Otto. It is also reported in other areas such as Argentina's Northeast, New Zealand's North, and Paraguay, as well as globally and in the region of Madeira.
