Eremogone aculeata is a flowering plant in the Caryophyllaceae family, native to the western United States. It is commonly known as prickly sandwort and grows in habitats such as the southern sagebrush steppe, mountainous regions, volcanic soils, and rocky slopes.

Description

Eremogone aculeata (S.Watson) Ikonn. is a member of the Caryophyllaceae family, found in California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. This species is adapted to diverse environments, including sagebrush steppe, mountainous terrain, volcanic soils, and rocky slopes. It was first described in 1973.
