Epimedium sempervirens

Epimedium sempervirens is a member of the Berberidaceae family, a group of flowering plants commonly known as the barberry family. The species is part of the genus Epimedium, which includes a number of herbaceous perennials. It was formally published in 1932 under the authorship of Nakai ex F.Maek. The natural distribution of this species is restricted to Japan. As with other members of the genus, it is likely to be a shade-tolerant plant adapted to woodland habitats.
