Ephedra monosperma is a small shrub in the Ephedraceae family, known by the synonyms Ephedra minima and dan zi ma huang. It was first described in 1846 by C.A. Mey., based on the work of J.G. Gmel.

Description

Ephedra monosperma is a member of the Ephedra genus and is native to regions in Central and East Asia, including Buryatiya, China (North-Central and South-Central), Chita, Inner Mongolia, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Mongolia, Primorye, Qinghai, Tibet, Tuva, Xinjiang, and Yakutskiya. It is part of the Ephedraceae family, a group of gymnosperms commonly known as jointfirs. The species is recognized by its small shrub form and is sometimes referred to as dan zi ma huang in traditional contexts.
