Elaeagnus tonkinensis is a species in the Elaeagnaceae family, commonly known as the silverberry or oleaster family. It is distributed in the regions of South-Central China and Vietnam. This species was formally described in 1908 by the botanist Servett. It is part of the genus Elaeagnus, which includes shrubs and small trees often characterized by silvery, scale-covered leaves and fragrant flowers.
