Ehretia tinifolia L. is a woody, perennial tree in the family Ehretiaceae, native to regions including Central America, the Caribbean, and parts of Mexico and Vietnam. It typically grows between 0.5 to 3 meters in height, with branching from the base and bark that ranges from reddish-brown to red-purple and exfoliates. The leaves are coriaceous and elliptic, measuring 1 to 3.3 cm in length. The flowers are urceolate, white to pink, and arranged in clusters of five to eight. The species was first described in 1759.

Description

Ehretia tinifolia L. is a small tree found in tropical regions of the Americas and Vietnam. It is characterized by its reddish-brown to red-purple bark that peels off in flakes. The leaves are tough, elliptic, and range from 1 to 3.3 cm in length. The flowers are tubular, white to pink in color, and grouped in clusters of five to eight. The species is capable of vegetative reproduction through buried branches, though this method is uncommon. It was first published in 1759 and is part of the genus Ehretia. The species has a wide distribution across Central America, the Caribbean, and parts of Mexico and Southeast Asia.
