Ecdeiocolea monostachya is a grass-like perennial herb in the family Ecdeiocoleaceae, native to Western Australia. First described by F.Muell. in 1874, it grows in tufts reaching 0.4 to 1 m in height and 1 m in width. The plant is adapted to yellow sands over laterite substrates in its native range.
Description
Ecdeiocolea monostachya is a member of the Ecdeiocoleaceae family and is part of the genus Ecdeiocolea. It is a perennial herb that forms dense tufts and is found in the arid and semi-arid regions of Western Australia. The species thrives in yellow sandy soils overlying laterite. It was first scientifically documented by Ferdinand von Mueller in 1874.
