Pterocarpus marsupium, known as East Indian kino, is a deciduous tree native to India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. It can reach heights of up to 31 m (102 ft) and is part of the Fabaceae family. The species was first described in 1799 by Roxb.

Description

Pterocarpus marsupium is a medium-to-large tree that belongs to the genus Pterocarpus in the Fabaceae family. It is found in regions including Bangladesh, India, Madagascar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Trinidad-Tobago. The tree is recognized for its height, growing up to 31 m (102 ft), and is commonly referred to as East Indian kino in English. The species was first published in 1799 under the authorship of Roxb.
