Nymphaea leibergii, known as the Dwarf Water-Lily, is a perennial aquatic plant in the Nymphaeaceae family. It is native to northern North America, occurring in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Northwest Territories, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Vermont-US, and other regions. The plant is typically found in ponds and slow-moving streams. It is considered infrequent in its range and is protected as a state threatened species in Maine, Michigan, and Minnesota.
Description
Nymphaea leibergii is a member of the genus Nymphaea and is distributed across several Canadian provinces and parts of the northern United States. Its habitat includes still or slow-moving freshwater environments. The species was first described in 1932 by Morong. Due to its limited occurrence, it is of conservation concern in certain areas where it is legally protected.
