Hygrohypnum luridum, known as drab brook moss, is a species in the genus Hygrohypnum of the family Amblystegiaceae. It was first described in 1913 and is found in regions including Labrador, Québec, São Miguel Island, Terceira Island, Flanders, the southeastern United States, Vermont, Norway, Denmark, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Flemish Region.

Description

Hygrohypnum luridum is a moss species that inhabits a range of geographic locations across North America and Europe. Its distribution includes Labrador, Québec, São Miguel Island, and Terceira Island in the Atlantic, as well as parts of Flanders, the southeastern United States, Vermont, Norway, Denmark, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Flemish Region. The species was formally described in 1913 and is commonly referred to as drab brook moss in English. It belongs to the genus Hygrohypnum within the family Amblystegiaceae, a group of mosses typically associated with moist environments.
