Dorstenia benguellensis is a species in the genus Dorstenia, belonging to the Moraceae family. It was first described in 1869 by Welw. and is native to several countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

Description

Dorstenia benguellensis is a member of the Moraceae family, commonly known as the mulberry family. The species is distributed across multiple African countries, including Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe. It was first formally described in 1869 by the botanist Welw. and is part of the Dorstenia genus, which includes a variety of tropical and subtropical species.
