Doodia maxima, known as the giant rasp fern, is a fern species found in moist open forests in eastern Australia. It was once considered a natural hybrid. The species is classified in the genus Doodia according to the Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group classification of 2016, though some sources place it in Blechnum.

Description

Doodia maxima (J.Sm., 1846) is a member of the fern family Blechnaceae. It is native to eastern Australia, where it grows in moist open forest habitats. The species has been subject to taxonomic debate, with some sources placing it in the genus Blechnum. However, the Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group classification of 2016 recognizes it as part of the genus Doodia.
