Description
Doliocarpus dentatus (Aubl.) Standl. is a member of the Dilleniaceae family and is distributed across several South American countries, including Colombia, Belize, Bolivia, and Brazil. In Colombia, it is present in regions such as Complejo Humedales Hato Corozal, Cienaga Zapatosa, and various national parks and reserves, including Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete and Parque Nacional Natural Río Puré. It is also found in the Amazonian regions of the departments of Amazonas, Caquetá, Guainía, Guaviare, Putumayo, and Vaupés. The species extends into Brazil, covering the Northeast, North, Southeast, South, and West-Central regions, as well as into Belize and Bolivia. The plant is documented from 1925 and is associated with diverse ecosystems, including the Amazonian lowlands and piedmont areas.
