Diplopterys patula

Diplopterys patula is a member of the Malpighiaceae family, a group of flowering plants commonly known as the Malpighia family. This species is found in the Brazilian regions of the Northeast and Southeast. It was first published in 2006 under the scientific name Diplopterys patula (B.Gates) W.R.Anderson & C.Davis, with the original name attributed to B. Gates. The genus Diplopterys is known for its woody plants and is primarily distributed in the Neotropics.
