Diplacus nanus is a species of monkeyflower in the family Phrymaceae. It is native to California and the northwestern United States, including Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming. This plant typically grows in moist environments, often in bare or disturbed soils. Previously classified as Mimulus nanus, it was reclassified in 2012 under the genus Diplacus.

Description

Diplacus nanus, known as dwarf purple monkeyflower, is a small flowering plant in the family Phrymaceae. It is found in moist habitats, particularly in areas with bare or disturbed soils. The species was originally described under the genus Mimulus as Mimulus nanus but was later transferred to the genus Diplacus in 2012. It is distributed across several western U.S. states, including California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming.
