Diphasium scariosum (G.Forst.) Rothm. is a species in the Lycopodiaceae family, previously known as Lycopodium scariosum. It is also referred to as spreading clubmoss or creeping club moss. The genus Diphasium is recognized in the Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group classification of 2016, though other systems place it within Lycopodium.

Description

Diphasium scariosum is a member of the Lycopodiaceae family, a group of vascular plants commonly called club mosses. The species was published in 1944 and is known by the common names spreading clubmoss and creeping club moss. While the Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group classification of 2016 recognizes the genus Diphasium, other taxonomic systems do not, instead including the species within the genus Lycopodium.
