It is found in the western United States, including Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming, with two occurrences discovered in southern British Columbia in 2006. The species is federally listed as threatened in the U.S. and was proposed for delisting in 2025.

Spiranthes diluvialis, known as diluvial ladies'-tresses, is a member of the Orchidaceae family. It is native to the western United States, where it occurs in scattered, often small populations. The species name 'diluvialis' means 'of the flood,' possibly referring to its habitat preferences. The plant is listed as a threatened species in the United States but was proposed for removal from the threatened list in 2025. Its range includes Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming, with additional populations found in British Columbia.
