Description
Paeonia delavayi, described by Franch. in 1886, is a member of the Paeoniaceae family. It is endemic to South-Central China and Tibet. The plant is known for its nodding flowers, which range in color from reddish-brown to yellow, blooming between mid May and mid June. The leaves are light green, deciduous, and composed of multiple segments, arranged alternately on new growth. In China, it is called 滇牡丹, and in English, it is also referred to as Delavay's tree peony, Delavay peony, and Dian peony.
