Desmanthus paspalaceus is a species in the genus Desmanthus, belonging to the Fabaceae family. It was first described in 1946 by (Lindm.) Burkart. This plant is native to several regions in South and Central America.

The species was formally published in 1946 by the author (Lindm.) Burkart. The species occurs in both the Northeast and Northwest regions of Argentina, as well as in the South of Brazil and the Gulf, Northeast, and Southeast regions of Mexico.
