Eucnide urens, known as desert stingbush, is a shrub native to desert regions of California, Arizona, Utah, southern Nevada, and Baja California. It is also referred to as desert rock nettle, velcro plant, or vegetable velcro.

Description

Eucnide urens Parry ex Coville is a member of the Loasaceae family and is commonly found in arid environments. It is adapted to desert conditions and is recognized for its stinging hairs, which contribute to its common names. The species was first described in 1893.
