Boechera lignifera, known as desert rockcress, is a species in the Brassicaceae family. It is native to regions in North America, including Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. The species was formally described in 1982 by W.A. Weber, with the original authorship attributed to A. Nelson.

Description

Boechera lignifera is a member of the Brassicaceae, or mustard, family. It is found in a range that spans parts of Canada and the United States. The species is recognized by its specific adaptations to arid and rocky environments, as suggested by its common name, desert rockcress. The taxonomic classification of this species was established in 1982, with Weber providing the formal description based on earlier work by Nelson.
