Description

Davallia denticulata, a member of the Davalliaceae family, is a widespread fern species that thrives in tropical and subtropical regions. It is often found growing on rocks (lithophyte) or on trees (epiphyte) in diverse forest environments. The fern is distributed across several islands and countries, including the Andaman Islands, Borneo, Bismarck Archipelago, Cambodia, Christmas Island, Hainan, India, Laos, Lesser Sunda Islands, Malaya, Myanmar, New Guinea, Nicobar Islands, Philippines, Queensland, Sri Lanka, Sulawesi, Sumatra, Thailand, and Vietnam. It was first described in 1868 by Kuhn. During dry periods, the fern may lose all its fronds, a survival adaptation to arid conditions.
