Nigella damascena, also known as Damascus Hellebore, is an annual flowering plant in the Ranunculaceae family. It is native to southern Europe, North Africa, and southwest Asia, commonly growing in neglected, damp areas.

Description

Nigella damascena, commonly called love-in-a-mist or devil in the bush, is a member of the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae. It is an annual plant that grows in regions such as British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, and parts of Europe. The species was first published in 1753 by Linnaeus. It thrives in damp, neglected areas and is widely cultivated as a garden ornamental.
