Sidastrum micranthum, known as Dainty sandmallow, is a species in the Malvaceae family. It was first described in 1978 and is native to regions in the Americas and Asia.

Description

Sidastrum micranthum (A.St.-Hil.) Fryxell is a member of the Malvaceae family, commonly referred to as Dainty sandmallow. Its distribution spans several regions, including Brazil (Northeast, Southeast, South, and West-Central), Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Guyana, India, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and parts of Asia such as China's Southeast. The species is also found in the Archipiélago de Cuba and in the states of BR, CO, IN, and Santander, as well as in Hawaii and Piedecuesta. First published in 1978, it is part of the genus Sidastrum, a group within the mallow family known for its diverse geographical range and ecological adaptability.
