Cylindropuntia caribaea is a cactus species found in Barichara and Capitanejo in the Santander region, as well as in Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, the Venezuelan Antilles, and Venezuela. It belongs to the genus Cylindropuntia, which is part of the Cactaceae family. The species was formally published in 1936 by F.M. Knuth, who reclassified it from the original description by Britton and Rose.
