Cycas brachycantha is a cycad species in the family Cycadaceae, native to northern Vietnam. It is endemic to Bắc Kạn Province and is found in Ba Bể National Park. This species grows in soil-free cracks and crevices of limestone crests and ridges under the canopy of evergreen forests.

Description

Cycas brachycantha, described by K.D. Hill, T.H. Nguyên, and P.K. Lôc in 2004, is a member of the genus Cycas. It is restricted to limestone habitats in the forests of northern Vietnam. The plant thrives in rocky, soil-free environments on limestone formations, typically under the shade of evergreen forest canopies. Its limited distribution highlights its ecological specialization to specific geological and climatic conditions in its native range.
