Dioon merolae is a cycad species in the family Zamiaceae, native to southeastern Mexico. It is found in the states of Chiapas and Oaxaca, specifically in the municipalities of Cintalapa and Villaflores, as well as the Sierra Juárez region. The species was first described in 1981 by De Luca, Sabato, and Vázquez-Torres.

Description

Dioon merolae is a member of the genus Dioon, which is part of the cycad family Zamiaceae. This species is native to southeastern Mexico, particularly in the states of Chiapas and Oaxaca. It occurs in the municipalities of Cintalapa and Villaflores in Chiapas and in the Sierra Juárez area of Oaxaca. The species was formally described in 1981 by De Luca, Sabato, and Vázquez-Torres.
