Oenothera laciniata, commonly known as Cut-Leaf Evening-Primrose, is a flowering plant in the Onagraceae family. It is native to the eastern United States and has been introduced to various regions, including Hawaii, Australia, Britain, France, Korea, and Japan, where it is sometimes considered a noxious weed.

Description

Oenothera laciniata, described by Hill in 1768, is a member of the Onagraceae family. Its native range includes the eastern United States, but it has been widely introduced to other regions such as New Brunswick, Ontario, the Azores, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, and parts of Europe and Asia. It is known for its ability to spread and has been reported in areas where it is not native, often regarded as an invasive species.
