Ctenanthe dasycarpa is a species in the Marantaceae family, native to regions in Antioquia, Colombia, as well as Costa Rica and Panamá. It was first described in 1902 by K.Schum., with the original authorship attributed to Donn.Sm.

Description

Ctenanthe dasycarpa belongs to the genus Ctenanthe within the Marantaceae family, commonly known as the prayer plant family. This species is distributed across Antioquia in Colombia, as well as in the neighboring countries of Costa Rica and Panamá. The species was formally published in 1902 by Karl Schumann, with the original description credited to Donn.Sm. The plant is part of a diverse group of tropical flora known for their ornamental and ecological significance in their native habitats.
