Cryptosepalum maraviense is a rhizomatous subshrub belonging to the Fabaceae family, native to several countries in southern and central Africa, including Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe. It was first described in 1871 by the botanist Oliv. This species is found growing in wooded savannah and open forest habitats.

Description

In the region of Quiçama National Park, Angola, Cryptosepalum maraviense is known locally as 'kakué (kb).' It is a member of the genus Cryptosepalum and is adapted to the ecological conditions of its native range, typically occurring in environments characterized by wooded savannah and open forest.
