Cryptanthus bromelioides is a plant species in the Bromeliaceae family, native to Brazil. It was first described by Otto and A.Dietr. in 1836.

Description

Cryptanthus bromelioides is a member of the genus Cryptanthus within the Bromeliaceae family. It is endemic to Brazil, where it is found in the Southeast region. The species was formally published in 1836 by Otto and A.Dietr. and remains recognized in botanical records. It is part of a group of plants commonly known as earth stars, known for their rosette-forming growth habit and terrestrial lifestyle. The species is not reported to occur naturally outside its native range in Brazil.
