Diphasiastrum digitatum, known as Crowfoot Clubmoss, is a species of clubmoss in the Lycopodiaceae family. It is the most common species of its genus in North America and has been historically referred to as Lycopodium flabelliforme or Lycopodium digitatum. Previously grouped under the superspecies Diphasiastrum complanatum, it is found in regions including Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Vermont-US. It was formally published in 1975.

Description

Diphasiastrum digitatum is a clubmoss native to North America and is part of the Lycopodiaceae family, commonly known as the clubmoss family. It is often called groundcedar, running cedar, or crowsfoot, with the name fan clubmoss also used to describe it. This species is widely distributed across several Canadian provinces and one U.S. state. It has a long taxonomic history, having been previously classified under different names such as Lycopodium flabelliforme and Lycopodium digitatum. The species was formally recognized and published in 1975 under its current scientific name.
